Some time ago, when I went to the furniture shop, I saw a set of brown sofas. They were big and comfortable and could almost suck half of a person inside. The price tag was over 4,000. I said to my husband, “I’m buying them for you, as a wedding gift.” He looked at me in astonishment and said, “Nonsense.” And then went to observe a little coffee table with interest.
Such an obvious cover-up that even I could see, but he probably had nothing else to do and nothing to say other than that. I looked at his back and smiled.
Actually, he didn’t know that I wasn’t gambling or mocking him intentionally. I really wanted to buy something for him.
