I am an Alpha, but a long time ago, I fell in love with another Alpha.

When I heard this, my heart dropped and hung in the middle. Shen Wenxin was allergic to peanuts. I watched his small face begin to swell up and he was sweating cold sweat all over his back.

I remember the last time I bought a box of allergy drugs and left it at home, it should not be expired yet.

“That’s the one.” I looked at the shelf life and indications, and fed it to Shen Wenshu.

“Let’s go!” I picked up Shen Wenshu and rushed out.

Shen Junshan’s car was driving fast, but I felt my heart beating faster. Shen Wenshu’s breath became even quicker. I was afraid that his trachea would be blocked. I called him again and again, “Wan Wan… Wan Wan… Wan Wan… …”

“Papa… “His murmur was so vague that I could hardly hear his voice.

I closed my eyes and gasped for breath, but was surrounded by another sweaty body. Shen Junshan’s voice sounded in my ear, “It’s okay, it’s okay.”

“Don’t be afraid Papa, Big Brother is the best, super great!” Xin Xin, the little fellow, was lying on my knee, comforting me with his father.

I knew. I was exposed.

Yet, I could not help holding the two of them close to myself, so that I could feel grounded.

Fortunately, although Wan Wan’s situation was serious, it was not hard to overcome because of timely medical treatment.

He went to sleep quickly because of a low fever.

I watched him finally calm down and held his hand, which was cold from the infusion.

I had moments of fear, I almost… Maybe would have lost him.

“The situation is stable. After the fever subsides, it’ll be all right.” Shen Junshan came back with the records and spoke to me.

I realized then that he had not even changed his pajamas. He still wore slippers on his feet.

No matter how big the president was, he was also a silly father, but I also seem to be silly.

I looked at the wrongly-buttoned coat on myself and thought silently.

Xin Xin saw that his brother was all right and heaved a sigh of relief before falling asleep in the corner of the hospital bed.

Shen Junshan first looked at the two small ones, and then pinched my hand.

“Du Tang.”

His voice was shaking a little. In fact, Shen Junshan was very tired, but still stubbornly supported himself.

I sighed helplessly, “Say what you want to say.”

He still held on and refused to let go. “You… are Tang Tang?”

My shoulders trembled and I listened to Shen Junshan continue his words. “He and you were the ones who were victims of the car accident. When you were in a severe coma, he woke up. Now that something happened to him, you woke up miraculously. I dare not guess, but I can’t help it, can it be…”

I forced my cold face, “Don’t be so sure, I’m an Alpha!”

“I don’t know what keeps you from telling me these things. But whatever the reason, I, Shen Junshan, will tell you plainly that whatever I am saying today is for you, whether you are Tang Tang or Du Tang, whether you are Omega or Alpha. I only want you in my life, only my Tang Tang.”

I said with a little tremble, “If you meet a new Omega in the future…”

“Let’s see if I and you, an Alpha, die of old age first, or if there’s any short-sighted Omega coming out.” Shen Junshan buried himself on my shoulder and laughed. “You can rest assured that I will be usurped by your guards and exiled to the frontier.”

One day, the princess revealed his tail again, and so he fled in fear but was found back by the prince.

The prince said that he loved the fishtail princess, even though he had the tail of a fish.

I laughed, as if I heard this voice.

It’s the end! A happy ending as promised… This was the shortest roller coaster ride Fish has ever experienced, but Fish loves it nonetheless.

  7. So the MC was actually the dying Omega? And the enemy and the wife body swapped, with one waking up while the other was a vegetable?

    Would’ve liked the MC to be the actual person. Thanks for translating!

    1. Originally, the MC and the Omega got into a car accident and their souls were switched. So the MC woke up as the Omega, and his original body remained in a coma. After 12 years the MC gets into the hospital again and due to heavy blood loss, ‘dies’ and his soul goes back to his original Alpha body. In a way, as an Alpha he was vegetative for 12 years, but he actually lived during that time, as an Omega.

      Fish also wished that they were the same person, but glad you enjoyed it!

    BUT
    I dont understand the whole 12 years.

    So Du Tang and Tang Tang both had accident 12years ago? And they switched soul?
    Then, at present, Tang Tang died, so Du Tang soul went back to his original body that in vegetitive coma for 12years?
    Okay, I understand this.

    Now, how come at chapter 4, Du Tang subordinate said he was in coma for a month?
    So, coincidentally, both Tang are in the same company before the accident 12years ago?

    And Why Du TAng said, he fought with Shen JunShan all the time? When was that? Before or after 12 years ago?

    Also, Du Tang love Shen before the accident too?

    1. I think the 1 month is referring to their division being leaderless for 1 month. Rememer, the omega was the head, then he fell into a coma. And the MC woke up, but didn’t go directly to the company. MC does mention that he woke up for less than a month, but they’re rushing him back to work or something in that chapter 🙂

  22. This rather melancholy story unexpectedly had such a warm (and almost magical) ending.

    The first chapters gave me the impression that this story was about a person assimilating into society and feeling displaced from his years in a coma. Towards the end, I thought this was going to be a BE because I realized that he had unrequited feelings for Shen Junshan because the novel was ending soon and there was still no sign of a positive between them.

    Who would have thought the HE was insight the entire time? They just needed to realize it. This whole time, Shen Junshan was despairing over losing his beloved and Du Tang despaired over losing Shen Junshan’s love for him. When you read this a second time, you realize that nothing changed as we see Du Tang bonding with his children under his original identity as an alpha, hence the title “I am an alpha”. This whole story was about overcoming the “I am an alpha” barrier that haunted Du Tang.

  23. It’s quite amazing when you realize the real reason why Shen WenXin insistently calling Du Tang “papa”. This whole time, Shen Junshan and Wenshu thought WenXin was ignorant and mistaken when it was actually the opposite! Ha!

    Being only 5-6 yrs (the age of kindergarteners), he was the only one who could tell from instincts alone that the omega who gave birth to him and the MC were of the same souls. I suppose this aligns with the phenomenon of young kids having unusual awareness to supernatural elements like this.

    Naturally, Shen Wennian wouldn’t be able to tell since the baby didn’t get to know his birth mother. I’m kind of sad that Du Tang didn’t really get the chance to bond with Shen Wennian during this novel. The baby didn’t really have a role in this novel. His soul was probably sent back to his original body after giving birth and I wonder if he yearned to have the chance to hold Shen Wennian.

    It would have been nice if the author included an extra showing the fluffy family moments with the entire family including Shen Wennian or maybe the past between MC and ML that preluded the rejection (at least so we could see how MC’s feelings came about).

  26. What a beautiful, melancholy story. All those clues throughout were outstanding, and I am delighted by the end though it made my heart hurt only slightly. Leave it to kids to figure out the truth before adults!!! I loved the connections so much and it was slightly confusing first read, but what a ride! The adults figuring it out at the end was perfect.
